Clean Slate update

I finished my second week of Couch to 5k workout program.  It increased to jogging 1 1/2 minutes and walking two.  There is a 5 minute warm-up and 5 minute cool down.  I really like this program and I’m feeling stronger.  This is a 9 week program overall.  I’m targeting a couple of 5k’s to start.

I signed up for some spinning classes.  I’ve never done this before and expected to ride the bike for 30 – 45 minutes.  NOPE!.   10 minutes on the bike, jumping while the bike, pretending we were riding up hills.  Then jumped and did aerobic workouts, simulating skipping rope.  The class was supposed to last for an hour.  I made it less than 30.  I got so light headed and dizzy, I had to sit down.  While recovering, a nice young man walked by and stated, you feeling ok, you don’t look so well.  I mentioned, Um…I’m not feeling so hot.  They called a couple of EMT’s to check me out.  Everything was fine after about 20 minutes.  I guess I found my limit Smile   I won’t be attending an advanced spinning class anytime soon.  I’ll start with a simple riding for a bit.  I’m humbled by those who can do the spinning classes, YOU are in great shape if you can make it through those.  In conclusion, people got a good laugh from it.  I’ll keep after it!

Anywho, I’ve felt the temptation to slack off running, but I’m committed to see this through.  Since it’s going to be the basis of the story for Clean Slate, I don’t want to let our Creator down.  He has blessed me with this great opportunity.  Results for losing weight is something I want to do see, but I’ve only had a couple pounds come off.  Nothing big, I like to see a boost at the start when beginning a project.

One last thing, I plan to start bike training this week, at a more normal pace, and still trying to figure out the swim training.  Of all things, this has me a bit nervous.  I know this will work out.

PS – This was a good week, I completed the manuscript for my second book.  Remember the Nails : 40 days of doing something uncomfortable on purpose.  I’ve engaged the graphic artist and have the first reviewer looking it over.  More review to come I’m sure, but this should definitely go faster than 52 pickup, which I’m working with a person to help market this online.  God is moving in many directions.  Stay tuned!
