I was recently teaching a series on Monsters, the last lesson was particularly insightful. The series of stories we covered were on David and Saul. The material was taken out of 1 and 2 Samuel. The last lesson was “God” and “fear him”. How do you explain “Fear of God” to a 5 or 10 year old. Here is what God laid on my heart.
- He is the Creator
- He is Love – 1 John 4:8
- He is perfect and holy
- He gave us free will
We explained each of these concepts with pictures. God gave me the words through the Holy Spirit what to say. We prayed at the end, kids got the lesson. Anywho, hope this helps in your preparation.
