Official editing has begun on Introduction

Iíve had a couple people review with one person being an English teacher.   I Ďm glad Word doesnít use Red lines like they used in the old days.  I was impressed the initial review had 127 comments!   I was like ďYES!Ē  this person knows what they are doing.    I have one more section, which is 4 pages, is my story and testimony and this portion is done.  When I was in high school, Iím sure my response would have been different, but Iím so glad for people who have great passion for their work, and arenít afraid to help people out!  Praise God for this persons talents.

Stay tuned!

Steve

Continuing to edit!

Christmas 2011 is just around the corner, 7 days to go, time to start shopping.  How about you, are you done?  The editing process continues.  Iíve made it through the Introduction and 4 sections with my initial proofread, authoring.  I started to create the table of contents and amazes me the variety of topics covered, I also took an inventory and of this blog post, there are 9 extra stories I could include.  Iím not sure what to do with them, I might include a couple three in the last section of the book, think of it as the trailer, every truck has to haul something, or something the truck bed.  Weíll see.  In the Word document, there are 123 pages.  Iíll be curious when the person who does the final edit / review what their thoughts are.  Iím sure theyíll really give it the work over, which is good.  Iím going to continue to tinker with it, proofread and pray for an editor / publisher or how that this thing will get published to the world!

Oh on a side note, Tim Tebowís team lost after winning 6 in a row.  His team had 3 or 4 fumbles, penalties at the wrong time.  The New England Patriots played very well and deserved to win.  My Lions (yes a Lions fan) won on a last 2 minute drive!  For those who have no interest in American football, this probably doesnít make any sense.

Until later

Steve

Section 3 finished up

This weekend my hope is to get the 3rd and 4th section initial review done, before handing over to reviewers.   The last story in this section is by far in a way the most inspirational, heavenly feeling Iíve had.  The third section had some of the first stories I wrote and where inspiring to re-read them.  I hope to hear from the reviewers soon and get moved on to the next step, the publishing!  Iíve been praying for guidance on how to publish this book, I know the doors will be opened when they need to be, this entire project has been like that.

This last week lots of Tebow news has been played on ESPN.  Like anything, the media has a tendency to over analyze something, although the Tebow stuff is all media driven, and nothing from Tim himself.  I heard a comment on the radio itís cool to be a Christian now!  Smile  Keep Tebowing!

God Bless,

Steve

And it continues..

Iíve submitted the first section for review, hoping all goes well and looking forward to the feedback.  Iíve been lucky to have a person who will review that has been a English teacher for several years.  Iím a little scared a lot of text will come back Red.   I remember my papers in high school, I think mine alone used an entire Red  pen. Smile

Iíve finished putting all 52 stories / poems in the document.  Iím sure this is just a rough draft although formatting text isnít the funniest part of writing.  I also inquired getting a hold of a publisher.  The goal of this book is to have both eBook and printed version.  I have no idea how this part of the project will turn out, God Iím sure already has an answer, based on how other things went, Iíll find out when I need to, which Iím fine with doing.

Here is a story I wrote from a friend who was praying!  Enjoy, Iím wondering if this should go in the book.

Title:
Attacked

Scripture:
James 1:26, Matthew 11:30

Story behind the Story
One Sunday at GCC, a video was played introducing a new ministry called People Restore.  It was presented by a man who mentioned the ministry was to help people restore their faith back to Jesus.  There was “hiccups, hurts and hangups”.  Every person who walks with Jesus has these and to varying degrees, can interfere in their life.  The mission was to take back others who have been distracted.  I was moved and seemed to connect with the key people in the ministry.  I mentioned the stories God has blessed me with and seemed to be a place to share with others.  I’m not certain the outcome or how involved I will be personally, it seems like a next step and I wanted to be involved.  We were at a bible study and the same person who introduced the ministry, asked for prayer mentioning they were under attack since announcing the ministry.  God laid on my heart the word “Attacked” and the first sentence / phrase used in this story.  We also had just studied the scripture in our small group.

Story

Have you ever felt like every time you turn around? There is something seemly in your way.  No matter how much you prepare. No matter how much you plan. Something always seems to get in the way. Every obstacle appears to get larger and more difficult, It’s like a person is having fun watching you stumble. Roadblocks are put up everywhere. You work through one really hard roadblock, another pothole comes along out of no where. Finally, things appear to have calmed down and another larger pothole appears suddenly. After a few battles that appear to impact the overall plan. Anxiety, Worry and uncertainty rule the day. It seems the harder you work, the harder the task at hand becomes. Nothing is easy although the task is rewarding. It requires a lot of mental heavy lifting. Up until this point, you have kept it contained and the journey has been great.  Then you widen the effort to include many others.  The battles become larger and more difficult.  You’ve entered the arena of many thousands now. The goal is no longer contained, the idea becomes shared with others. The attacks are more wide spread impacting many others Who are engaged in the battle. The enemy has drawn the battle lines. The efforts are to restore souls. The efforts are to repair hearts and turn them back north, North to God, his son Jesus and Holy Spirit. The enemy has made it clear every soul will be a battle. Nothing will be easy, Nothing will be calm. There will be bumps, potholes and obstacles along the way. Not a moments rest, Not a moments peace. Scripture tells us to endure the journey. Take refuge in the Son for his yoke is light. There will be peaks and valleys, endure everyday with hope provided from above. Keep it simple, take care of orphans and widows, do not become part of this world. An orphan can be a child. It can be an middle aged person struggle with addiction or even an older person lost in their way. Each orphan has their own unique story.  God wants all of his “children” to know he loves them and wants to see them come to him with their hearts open. God will restore hope from their hurts, God will help overcome their habits and even when we have hang-ups from time to time, he’ll be there loving us unconditionally. The good book says One day you will hang with him in his house, forever. What a comforting feeling knowing we are loved by such a great creator. This single hope helps us endure the journey filled with Hurts, Hiccups and Hangups.

Have you ever felt like every time you turn around
There is something seemly in your way

No matter how much you prepare
No matter how much you plan

Something always seems to get in the way

Another pothole comes along out of no where

Then finally, things appear to have calmed down
And another larger pothole appears suddenly

After a few battles that appear to impact the overall plan

First section Truck Frame including 13 devotionals complete

Iím excited to finish up section 1 of 4, this includes the first 13 stories / poems.  There was one story called SHARP.  It was relating to the online comments I see that people post.  There is very little compassion and at the first chance, people are criticizing other posters and the author.  Anywho, when I tried to incorporate the story as one of the 13, it just wouldnít come together, so I removed it!  I was getting a prompt, remove it, the words are just not coming together, wonít you listen!  (aka I believe the Holy Spirit telling me to listen).  Sometimes it takes a few tries of beating my head against the wall (as they say) before I learn my lesson.

One of the themes of the book there are 4 sections (13 devotionals).  In between, Iím trying to articulate something about building a Truck related to the story.  I donít get a sense how to document into words what should go there.  Guess off to ask for assistance (prayer) on that section, everything else on this book is God Inspired, might as well ask for this, not sure I have so far. Smile

God Bless,

Steve

So it begin. 52 pickup book project is on its way

The website isnít even done yet and the first blog post is there.  Welcome to my first post regarding the journey of writing a book.  Itís not a typical book people would expect although the words are, well ďGod InspiredĒ.  The book is called 52 pickup.   Weíll discuss later how the book got itís name, well itís in the book. Smile  Over the years Iíve been writing stories here and there on a wide range of topics. Iíve been inspired to take these writings, bundle them up and share.  They are pretty good IMO and worth reading.

A few details, the book has an introduction, 4 sections of devotionals (13 in each section) and probably a conclusion (not sure yet).  Iíve been blessed to have a few people come along side me to help provide reviews, input and comments.  One of which is a formal English person hopefully!  Stay tuned, the introduction hopefully will be done in the next week or so.  My goal is to get perspective from a range of people to ensure the stories make sense from their angle.

On a side note, this is the first time Iíve blogged on non-technical things, so itíll be quite different.  My normal ďMOĒ has been technical (aka geeky) things.  Feels kind of refreshing sharing with the WWW.

God Bless,

Steve
